As we mentioned last week, the 1991 repeat run of this series was an absolute sensation but was just part of a whole slew of Andersonia that enjoyed a bit of a renaissance around that period, including that ace Fuzzbox song of course and also those two comedians who used to wear models of the ships on their heads who used to turn up in all the adverts for BSB. Actually it seems like most comedians had a Thunderbirds routine in the early nineties, The Tracy Brothers naming themselves after them of course while The Mary Whitehouse Experience memorably suggested International Rescue was such a secretive organisation that they had to use other people’s hands for close-ups. Let’s hope this run inspires many more gags like that.
