Does The Equalizer 3 Have Post-Credits? How Many End, Mid Credits? – StyleCaster

If you’re heading to the cinemas on September 1, 2023, and hoping to catch the latest Denzel Washington film, you’re probably wondering does The Equalizer 3 have post-credits scenes? Here’s if you need to hang around until after the credits roll.

The first Equalizer was released in 2014; it and the two follow-up films were directed by Antoine Fuqua and star Denzel Washington in the lead role. The movies are loosely based on the 1980s TV series of the same name.

Washington plays Robert McCall, a quiet and unassuming man—with a mysterious past—who works at a hardware store in Boston. He leads a seemingly ordinary life, but he has a mysterious and violent past as a highly trained government operative. When McCall meets and befriends a young sex worker named Teri, played by Chloë Grace Moretz, he becomes deeply concerned for her safety after she is brutally beaten by her Russian mob-controlled pimp. McCall’s sense of justice and his desire to help those in need are reawakened.

In the sequel, Equalizer 2 continues the story of McCall as a vigilante for justice, delivering action-packed sequences, and intense suspense. He has settled into a new life as a quiet and unassuming Lyft driver while continuing to help people in need, often using his skills to deliver his own brand of justice.

McCall’s life takes a dramatic turn when he learns that his close friend and former colleague, Susan Plummer (Melissa Leo), has been brutally murdered during an investigation in Brussels. Determined to find those responsible, McCall begins unraveling a conspiracy that leads him to a web of betrayal and deception involving powerful figures. In the third film, McCall finds himself living in Southern Italy and soon discovers his new friends are under the control of local crime bosses. As events turn deadly, McCall becomes their protector by taking on the mafia.

Does The Equalizer 3 have a post-credits scene?

Does The Equalizer 3 have a post-credits scene? No, The Equalizer 3 does not have a post-credits scene and that keeps with the pattern of the franchise not using mid- or post-credit scenes, as neither The Equalizer and The Equalizer 2 don’t have any additional content.

In an interview with Empire, star Denzel Washington hinted at how the film ends and whether there will be any more Equalizer films. “I don’t want to say he’s found happiness, and I don’t want to give it all away, but he meets someone lovely, he’s in a lovely town and he seems to be at peace,” Washington said of where his character is in the third and seemingly final film. “That seems to be a good place to stop. … I didn’t know that there were going to be three,” he said. “Definitely didn’t know that when we did the first one. I didn’t know how it would end.”

Fuqua also teased how the films would end and if there’ll be a fourth. “This is it,” he said. “Robert McCall, the working-man hero, at some point he’s got to walk away from it. At some point, someone else has to pick up the ball and serve justice. He’s served his justice. He’s in a foreign place, he’s trying to find a home, find a place in the world. That’s really what’s important.”

Will there be an Equalizer 4?

Will there be an Equalizer 4? It doesn’t appear there will be but hey, never say never.

“I believe this would be it. We’ve both talked about it that way. But you never know,” director Fuqua told Total Film. “Listen, Denzel’s in shape. He’s training every day. If you saw him now, it would blow your mind. He’s like 60 pounds lighter, even from The Equalizer. He’s really healthy. Yeah, it’s up to him. Obviously, if he wanted to do another one, I would as well, but I don’t see it. But who knows?”

Fuqua told JoBlo what could be if a fourth film wasn’t going to happen. “If The Equalizer 4 is off the table, how about this: a prequel with John David Washington playing a young McCall, or perhaps even Michael B. Jordan? I think it’s a really good idea to do that, and go back,” he said. “Wouldn’t that be amazing? That’s a good idea! How cool would that be, man?”

In 2014, Washington spoke to Collider about how his character has obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). “He’s just not the action guy.  He’s troubled, flawed and we don’t finish the story—it’s not like suddenly at the end he’s fine,” he said.

“It’s been an interesting development as we’ve gone along. We started talking about it and adding things, opening doors five times. We obviously did a lot of research about it. I was surprised to find—it’s just obsessive behavior, it could be anything. In fact, I read a book I Never Wash My Hands, so it’s not necessarily about someone who always washes their hands 50 times.”
